Kelli Proia is the principal attorney at IP in Focus, an intellectual property boutique dedicated to helping innovative companies realize the potential that lies in their intellectual assets.  To this end, Kelli helps her clients maximize the return on investment in their most important business assets, their people and their intellectual property, while minimizing the risk of doing business in today’s ever-changing global marketplace.  She does this by combining over 10 years of legal expertise with comprehensive intellectual property management solutions.  These solutions allow any organization to fully understand the value of their intellectual property and put it to work for them.

Prior to forming IP in Focus in 2009, Kelli worked in the legal departments of large, multinational companies where she specialized in intellectual property law, most recently as IP Counsel for Invensys Controls.  Much of Kelli’s in-house work was dedicated to integrating a company’s intellectual property into its overall business strategy.  Throughout her many years of in-house practice, Kelli has helped her clients protect their intellectual property, buy and sell over $2 billion worth of companies, and expand into new markets.  She has advised clients in North America, Europe and Asia.

Kelli received her Juris Doctor from the University of Maine School of Law in 1998.  Prior to that, she attended Providence College and graduated in 1993 with degrees in Political Science and Business Studies.

Kelli is currently licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
